Our Sunday school classes begin at 9:45 each Sunday morning. We do our best to make even our nursery a place of Christian education. The nursery workers are good about speaking
the Truth of God to our infants and they play appropriate music or show God centered videos to them. We have classes for all age groups, including Jr. and Senior High. We
also have two adult Sunday school classes that meet every week. As with all of our biblical training, we are Bible centered with a firm belief in, and commitment to, the inspiried,
inerrant, infallible text of Scripture. Our method of interpretation is from the standpoint of a literal, grammatical, historical approach. We also work hard at practical applications of the text. We highly encourage you to bring your copy of the Word of God with you when you come.
Don't forget to stop by the kitchen and get some coffee before the classes start!
AWANA
We have been providing Awana for our church and local community children for over 25 years. Awana is an international children's Bible memorization and application program
and its name is an acrostic for, Approved Workmen are not Ashamed. This is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. Awana's mission statemnet is, "That all children and youth
throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ." The night is broken down into three segements which are: 1. Handbook time, 2. Game time,
and 3. Council time. There is a free light supper for the children that starts at 5:40 p.m. The Awana club gets dismisses around 7:20 p.m. every Wednesday night.
Awana has a set calendar for each year. A copy of that can be secured from the church or we can email you one on request. Please note, our policy is that if school is cancelled
Awana is also cancelled for that night, if it is a Wednesday. We count it a privilege to be able to minister to children, all of whom are a "blessing from the Lord." Our
Awana commander is Mr. Shannon Rothchild. If you need more information you can call him at 785-282-0402. Any child age three years (must be potty trianed) through children
in the sixth grade.
Life Groups
We have three main Life Groups in the church. These are held during the school months on Sunday nights. We have one for young adults and two for all others. The start times for these
three groups varies. The young couples meet in homes at 5:30 p.m. There is free babysitting at the church for this group. Children may be dropped off around 5:15 p.m. The other Life
Groups start at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. repectively. The homes in which the Life Groups are held sometimes change and the meetings are sometimes cancelled for various occasions. It is
always a good idea to call the church and get the latest infromation on each Life Group including what they are currently studying together. Please call the church secretary at 785-282-3924
or check out our Events page for the church calendar.
Our Life groups end for the summers and we replace them with a regular Sunday evening service where we are preaching through the Psalms. Those services begin on Sudnay nights
at 6:00 p.m.
High School Youth Group
Our High School youth group meets at the church parsonage during the school year from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday night. We also meet the first Wednesday night of every
month, June - August. There is a free meal for the high school youth starting at 7:00 p.m. every meeting night. That is followed by a game time and then our Bible Study.
Travis and Brooke Warner and Pastor Greg and Noell Hubbard lead our High School youth group. Meals are provided by them and by various parents of the youth. We are so appreciative
of all their help. We cover many Bible topics with the youth, often use videos during teaching, and also go through books of the Bible. The youth are encouraged to bring their Bibles
to the meetings. The parsonage is at 419 N. Washington in Smith Center. If you would like more information about the youth group you can contact Travis at 785-282-8009 or Pastor Greg
at 785-282-0245. All youth are welcome. We have many young people from various churches who attend.
